Adobe lightroom 6.12 not updating to 6.14 update#
I'm wary that downloading from that link will just further entangle me with CC, and my entire object is to totally eliminate any connection to CC in any form and simply return to my LR 6.0 in a form that I can update to 6.14, or, better yet, to 6.14 directly.īy the way, I think I've figured out how I arrived in the CC jungle on my PC. I checked the link below, but the link gives me a page on which LR6 is listed as "Lightroom CC 2015 (w/ LR6)"

Then when I heard that LR 6.14 was available, I started LR 6.13, checked under Help>Updates, and there was the correct link for 6.14, without any of the confusing runaround! You should be able to upgrade directly from 6.0 this way. What I finally did was remove Adobe CC completely from my computer and things were back to normal. When I thought I finally had it straightened out, I had to be signed into Adobe CC just to use my perpetual license! Had similar problems here when I updated from 6.12 to 6.13, as though Adobe had intentionally made it difficult to update the standalone version. Suggestions, even safe experiments are most welcomed.Īnd, also by the way, how can I insert the image of the Adobe CC dialog box in my next posting that I'll have to use to do just that? I thought I’d give it one last chance with DPR before I migrate. Given the time I’ve put in trying to do a simple update, if I could simply purchase one of those good old days $79 updates from Adobe, I’d be quite happy to do just-and only-that. I’m about to pack it in and try to make a transition to DXO, knowing that my nice Lightroom catalog will never again appear in that useful form. Can it be used to update my 6.x “perpetual” license or is it a device to suck me into committing to a subscription version of Lightroom? When I look on the Adobe site for the Adobe Application Manager download, the Adobe advice is that the Adobe Application Manager is for the purpose of installing or managing the Cloud and CC Classic subscription programs.

Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager. When I click on this exe file, I get an Adobe error box labeled “Update Failed.” This box report that “Adobe Application Manager may be damaged.
Is this a correct assumption?Īnd, when I go to the Adobe site to download the updates for LR 6.x and down load the update, I open and unzip a file named AdobePatchInstaller.exe. My assumption is at least the latter of the two programs is required and the dialog box is offering to reinstall or repair it. Since Adobe has re-branded many things related to LR with CC in their name, I am trying to understand what and why that dialog box is trying to correct, and what it plans on doing to repair the problem.
This all started with an Adobe CC dialog box popup that wants to install or repair the latter of the two. I have three Lightroom-related questions: When one is just using LR 6.x, are the updates handled on the computer by Adobe Application Manager, Adobe Creative Cloud App or both? By the way, I'm running Win 10-64, and (this is really embarrassing), in an attempt to update my LR 6.12 to 6.14 on the Adobe web site, I inadvertently downloaded LR 6.0 and it overwrote my LR 6.14, demoting me to 6.0.
